Research Interests

My research interests span across many areas of biomedical research including but not limited to the molecular basis of hereditary diseases such as mitochondrial disorders. For my PhD thesis, I adapted a pathogenic point mutation from a patient that presented with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and myopathy and use this as a tool to unravel the role of the ADP/ATP carrier in the regulation of oxidative phosphorylation in yeast. I look forward to being an established research investigator using innovative tools and state-of-the-art scientific techniques to provide answers to specific medical question(s).
