Research Interests

I investigated podocyte damage and protection in glomerular diseases. My goals are to find novel therapeutics for glomerular disease by protecting podocytes and to elucidate molecular mechanisms of podocyte damage/protection. I screen small molecules by utilizing a confocal microscope based high-content screening system. After screening, I validate the candidate small molecules with cell-based assays and small animal experiments. Also, I study molecular mechanisms of podocyte damage and protection with the known molecular mechanisms of the candidate small molecules.
