Academic Planning & Tools

We are invested in each of our graduate students. Through the mechanisms listed below, we provide an environment that enables all of our students to realize their vast potential.

  • Mentor(s) – Every principle investigator in the CMP program either has or wants to establish a stellar track record of mentorship. As a group, we are committed to training our students in a respectful environment that values their perspective. Annual mentoring meetings are designed to provide individualized mentoring based on the needs and goals of each of our students.
  • Graduate Program – The CMP Director acts as the mentor for each graduate student during the first year. If desired, academic support will be arranged with the help of the CMP administrator, Madeline McLaughlin. In subsequent years, student progress is monitored during annual meetings with the CMP Director.
  • Department – The Physiology department is a close-knit group. Our doors are always open to help with experiments, serve on thesis committees, critique grant applications, give mock oral exams, and celebrate the success of our students.
  • Graduate School – The graduate school offers a range of services designed to help students navigate their way through graduate school. For more information about these opportunities and more, click here:
